Thank you for Columbus Day!!
This past Monday Graci, Adam, and I were out of school. We celebrated Columbus day in Memphis with Peri, Graham and Reid. Graham took off work and we all went to the zoo. We had so much fun. The last time Adam and I took Graci to the zoo she was 3 and we were dating....needless to say it was not the most enjoyable trip. So, we are happy to say that this trip was 10 times better! :)

Missing those McRaes
Last weekend my dear friend Amanda and her family came to visit. I was very thankful that it worked out and that her sweet sister-in-law and my friend Misty had us over for lunch last Saturday. It was a much needed visit and very long over due. I took some pictures of her girls. Sarah Glen is 12 and beautiful, Janey Beth was Graci's best friend when she was her (Graci was very sad she missed the visit, and Emmy Lou was 1 when they moved three years so ago and has grown in to the cutest 4 year old. Love you McRaes!!
Win or Loose the Bulldogs did not ruin a weekend away....
A few weekends ago Adam and I went to Georgia to watch State play. The bulldogs I do not believe enjoyed the weekend as much as we did. We went with another couple friend. Athens, is such a neat place. If you have never been I recommend it be on your list of places to go. We try and take a trip together before basketball season starts. It is always much needed. Thank you to both of our parents for keeping the girls for us to get away.

Nap time....I think?
Saturday afternoon I put Mattie down for a nap for some quite time. Little did I know Mattie was not ready for a nap or ready to give Mama quite time. Over the monitor I hear "click, click". I walk in the room and she is standing in her bed running back and forth and turn her music Mobile on and off. She thought she was so cute, and she was but sadly their was no nap. And then to make the nap time even more fun Graci gets in the crib with Mattie. Mattie thought it was so fun to have her GA GA in there with her.

1st Grade Grandparents Day program

This past Friday at school the 1st Graders put on a program of songs to celebrate Grandparents day. It was so sweet. Graci, was so blessed and excited to have her Annie, Pop, Nana, and Mattie Ruth come and watch her in the program. Thank you to Annie, Pop, Nana, and Papa for all you do for our girls!! We love you!!
We now have internet....so that means....
Adam and I have finally decided to get internet. My promise to him was that if he let us get internet I would keep the blog up. Well, it has been a month since our change to the 21st century of the internet and I am finally putting a new post. YAY!!!!
I don't know where to start...it has been so long since I have posted that I am not going to even try and catch you up. Let's just talk about now.
Graci, is in 1st grade. I know...it is hard to believe. She has lost her 2 bottom teeth. She is growing up so fast and is growing up to be a sweet and thoughtful little girl. She is definitely her on person. She and I clash when it comes to her clothes. She has her on style (not sure what it is yet) and it does not mix with mine. But, we have learned to pick out our clothes the night before and it makes our mornings go so much smoother. Graci, is also taking dance this year. She loves it and is making a ton of new friends.
Mattie Ruth (our wild child), has grown up so fast. She is 14 months and is full of energy. She wants so bad to be as big as Graci but she is not there yet. She has got a fun personalty and is always smiling. She and Graci have so much fun together. My favorite is when Graci makes Mattie laugh and neither on of them can stop. Moments like that are times I pray that they last. Mattie is walking and is fast. We say, "that she does not walk, she runs." She has got 8 teeth. She had to have tubes over the summer but did not miss a beat. Annie, (my mom) keeps Mattie everyday well the rest of us got to work. We are very thankful for that.
Adam and I are doing great. I am in my 3rd year of teaching 2nd grade at Joyner. So far the year has started of crazy but good. I would not know what to think if things were not crazy. :) Adam, on the other hand has had a lot of changes this year. At the end of last school year he was offered the position as assistance varsity boys basketball coach. With lots of prays he took the job of coaching which also meant he would have to go into the classroom. He was nervous about that part of the job. Well, 3 weeks into the job God brought another opportunity for him. He was offered a counseling position at the high school. His first question of course was, "can I still help coach basketball?" The answer was "yes". So, Adam is now a counselor and assistant basketball coach at the high school. Wow....God is amazing.
Well, I think that this brings you all up to speed.

What January brought us...

Well this year has been full of surprises so far. We left school last Friday being told that a winter storm was headed our way. We did not believe that we would get as much as we did. I have never seen snow like this before. We got between 6-8 inches. That is amazing for Tupelo,MS. Graci, had a ton of fun. She built a snowman named Flake and got to go sledding with some friends. Best part is that we were out of school for 3 days. I enjoyed the break from school but I am also a Mississippian and I want warm weather now. Snow, you were great and fun but it's time for you and the low temps. to leave. Bring on Spring!!

A Busy Year
I realize that I do this all the time. I post on my blog and then go months without posting. I promise one day posting will become a regular task. This year has been full of so many blessings. There is never a dull moment in our household. With 2 girls there is always something going on.
Graci is in the middle of her Kindergarten year. Her teacher says that she is a "Leader" in the classroom. Adam and I are so proud of her. She has made some sweet friends this year. She loves to read and loves to draw. She is a perfectionist (not me at all) and always wants to do her best on her work. It has been hard going back to work and leaving Mattie Ruth but being able to go to school with Graci everyday has been the best!! On my rough days I will see her in the hall and she will get out of line and give me the biggest hug and smile. Nothing like a hug from your daughter to make a rough day at work better. We are praying that she continues to love school and build strong friendships.
Mattie Ruth will be 6 months old Jan. 1st. She is getting so big so fast. She has discovered her voices and loves to talk to us through screaming. She has the cutest laugh and laughs the hardest when her sister is being silly. She is rolling over and scoots on her back when she wants to get somewhere. We thing she will be crawling soon. She has just about figured out how to set-up. She can do it by herself for about 20secs. then looses her balance. But for those 20 secs she feels as big as Graci. We have been very blessed that Mattie is a happy baby. She does not fuss unless she is sleepy or hungry. We are looking forward to many years of watching both girls grow and and change.

Mattie Ruth, Kindergarten, and are family
Well summer is over and school days have started!! I can not believe how much time has flown by. July 1st our Mattie Ruth was born! Things have not been the same since. Even the lack of sleep has not changed the fact that we are so thankful to have her in our family now. My favorite part about Mattie Ruth is seeing Graci with her. She absolutely loves her little sister and we could not be even more proud of Graci. She is the best big sister ever. Mattie is always going to be taken care of by her big sis! Mattie is 6 weeks old now and growing and changing everyday. She weighed 6lbs 8ozs when she was born and is well over 8lbs now. She smiling so much. It melts our hearts and we just sit and look at her thinking "God is amazing."
Graci has started kindergarten. She goes to Joyner and has the best teacher. She has just completed her first week of school. With 2 falls. hurt knees, and some tears we are still loving school. She gets up every morning ready to go. I am so blessed for that. When I dropped her off the first day I was prepared for some hesitation but she walked in her room put her back pack up and never looked back. We are looking forward to a great year of making new friends and learning new things.
